K & N Air Filter
Hi I just got a New K&N air filter for my rc10gt. I would like to know how I can clean it? Thanks

as far as I know they are made of the same stuff the automotive ones are so I would suggest going to autozone and picking up a K&N cleaning kit.

hey thanks thats is exactly what I did last night. I went to autozone and bought a Cleaning Kit for $9.99. My dad has one in his 2003 F-150 so he'll need to clean it one of these days. THAnks for the help man :)

Soap and Water
I have K&Ns on my motorcycles, cars and RC cars I just use warm soapy water and let them air dry. They aren't paper.
IMHO you don't need fancy cleaning kits! Just relube them when they dry |

ya with the cleaning kit it comes with a cleaning spray and a re-lube oil. And then u use water to rinse out the cleaning spray. But for $9.99 couldn't beat the price :)

no offense.. but the K&N's are junk for r/c.. it's been tested and proven.. if it works for you that's fine.. but I like my engines to run for a long time.. so I stick to dense foams.. bel ray oil.. and a prefilter.. there is a test you can do if you don't believe me
take a piece of thin white string.. run it directly accross your carb.. install the neck of the air filter assembly over it.. just makes sure it's still suspended accross the carb.. zip tie it tight.. run it for several tanks in dirt.. and see how dirty it is when you're done.. I did mine with my current setup.. and it was yellow from my odonnel fuel.. with zero dirt |
Yeah I believe they are very bad for your engine, because they're made to be Valve cover filters.... I was gunna put one on my XTM but found that out too.... So i agree with warpig strongly

alright I'll only use the K&N for bashing Thanks for the help :)
