The pros use plastic chassis, and carbon parts for the rest. But it really is personal preference...

Parts that are made of carbon or graphite are stiffer/more rigid and usually lighter in weight. They may provide better and more consistent handling. The downside is that rigidity will bite you if you hit something. Graphite and carbon are more prone to breaking on impact than plastic because they have no "give". Plastic parts are more flexible and will give more before they break. The only graphite parts I run are ones that I can't get in plastic. I have too many "incidents" on the track to be replacing $12 graphite arms very often.

Plastic is a little more flexible and has a little more traction as a result, that's why a lot of the Factory guys run the plastic chassis
