Default Question about drivetrain noise

I have two 1/8 electrics cars. One Asc rc8b and a Losi 8t2.0 With no motor install, just rolling my losi seems so much more loud in the diffs then the associated. The losi has always been brushless, But the rc8 has by far more overall use on it. Is the losi that way or is it time to rebuild?

Excessive noise from the diffs is usually caused by not shimming them properly. This causes either a too tight or too loose condition, both of which will increase gear noise (and wear). Its much the same as pinion spur mesh on all vehicles, when the mesh is perfect, the gears will be very quiet.
