You probably saw this already, but Johnny posted about 90% of the 1/8 Electric A-main on youtube. For those who didn't, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSzwYx5vv_E
The front of the lineup was 1. Baker (O'donnell) 2. Bortolotti (Tamiya) 3. Redmin (HB Ve8) 4. Birku (Tamiya). We were required to roll the first 3 bumps to prevent mayhem but that didn't ever seem to work

Here's a shot taken at a different angle... hope it shows the room on the chassis. From looking at the car, it looks like it'll accommodate all the different electronics out there.

Looks nice and roomy for esc and motor. The battery box looks offset and designed for 2x2s, is there enough room for a single 4s pack in there?

It has been designed for 2x2s to optimize weight distribution on the chassis.

Any news or updates?

I do hope that Tamiya will release the 801Xe at the upcoming Hobbyshow in Shizuoka next month.

Thx!

I wish they had re-leased this last month LOL. Im in the process of making a TRF801 GT car with a brushless system.

I wish I had more information to pass your way but unfortunately I don't. Tamiya did however send another car for another Canadian driver, Abiye Birku so we look forward to getting some more time on the car with a very experienced offroad racer once our outdoor races start to get going in the next week or 2.

@Steve

Fair enough and thanks!

Goodluck at the outdoor tracks soon - I guess the 801Xe is a blast to drive

Resurrecting the thread, had any more running with the car guys? Has it all been on clay so far?

Also, are those Reedy battery's a snug fit or is there room for anything slightly wider (well I guess the battery's are on their side so I mean "higher" battery's that therefore take up more width in the car itself)?? Wondering whether battery's with cell locators which in this case would stick out the side would fit basically?
