I am running a MM2650 and my competition is running the 2200 so im trying to keep the field ALMOST even.. Were running 6s and im wondering if I run at 75% throttle will this cause the battery to become unbalanced

Nope, If anything it will keep it in balance better, less draw from the battery.

running a 2650 on 6s is why your unbalancing cells.. do you honestly need that much power?

I'm no expert, but I cannot see any reason why it would. I do think that 6S on a 2650 is WAY overkill. Usually with 6S you should be running a low kv motor like 1300-1500

Castle doesn't recommend running the 2650 on anything more than 4 cells.

I've never seen the need for more than 4 cells, and my usual outdoor setup is on 3S.

6S on 2650= uncontrollable
same for the 2200

4S on 2650
5S on 2200

anything more may prove to be useless for anything other than bashing.

I run a 2650 on a 4s and it's hard to control for sure. I tried a 3s with it last year and found myself wanting a little more power though....so I stepped up to 4s. I would never even try to run anything larger for fear my tires would instantly get ripped off the rims. lol

Nope. I have all my brushless 8th scales throttle turned down a bit. I don't need all that power. Just be sure and balance charge them every time.

I'm pretty sure that you run the risk of smoking that 2650 and your ESC at the same time. The 2650s run relatively well on on 3s. 6s is nuts. Dialing it back will help save your equipment as well as your batteries.

if i remember correctly turning down the EPA isn't good for your ESC since its contantly regulating power.

Having it turned down, less amperage will go threw, so less stress on components. I run all my ESCs turned down some and the run cold. I have a Tekin rs that's been at 80% for over a year in my 2 wheel buggy.

When the throttle EPA is turned down it is true that the motor demands less current. But the speed control does its most work in part throttle situations, and in some applications not using WOT can eventually cause damage. I too have ran several setups with end points turned down that never had a problem, but Castle recommends NOT doing it with their controllers.

nick the fets are constantly switching no matter what percentage of throttle, old brushless esc's worked harder with the epa down, but not are big bad boys now
