Like the title says, I am looking for the best elec. conversion kit for a 777. I'm hearing that the kyosho kit is the highest quality, but feel free to chime in on that. Also I want POWER! So please post your recommendations as to what motor/esc/battery pack/charger combo I need. I know very little about electric and lipos so please help a brotha out. TIA

I would try out RCPD products. They have a conversion kit for the 777. I use their Ultimate Battery Tray on my MP9 and its bloody solid.
As for Lipos, you might want to check out Hobbycity.com. You need to decide wht kv motor u intend to run. A lower kv motor will run more efficiently and has cooler temps and you pair it with a high cell count lipo. eg. 6s on maybe a 1500kv, 5s on 1700kv, 4s on 2000kv.
I personally run 4s 1900kv-2000kv on my 1/8. It's all up to you to decide.
ESC/Motor: I choose Tekin. Great customer support and the Tekin guys are always in here to offer support. Alternatively, you can give Hobbywing Xerun combo a try. Not bad either.

I have to agree with you, the kyosho kit would be my choice, Castle creations has one I thinks its kind of ugly, I know novak did make one, you moght be able to find one. I have an RC8E im using MMM with 2200kv setup, no problems with it.
I have a MP777 WC that I've used the Kyosho conversion kit on and it works great! The battery box is suited to using two 2-cell packs...which is what I already had anyway so it worked out for me. Some people don't like this and want to use 1 3 or 4 cell pack which you still can do, just be careful and get to know the length of the pack so you know it will fit. I've run the Orion Vortex 8 esc and the 2050kv motor on 4 cells and it's great at the race track. It's very smooth...you wouldn't know that it's not sensored...seriously! I've also run the Mamba with the 2200kv motor with great success...rock solid performance.

I installed the Kyosho conversion in my car. I set it up to carry an onboard camera, so it's got a camera mount over the center bulkheads, but otherwise its all 777.
Thanks BL. This rig is just for shooting video, so I'm not racing it, but I do have an original MP9 that I'm updating with all the new parts and a brushless conversion that I'm going to be running at OCRC and WCRC. I'd like to get out and see the Dan, Adam (Kenny Rogers) and the new track at ARC, but it's a little bit of a hike from here. I'll get out there soon enough I'm sure.
What bodies are available for converting an MP 777 to electric. I want something made for an electric conversion if possible.
IFB004 is a clear version of the body made for the Inferno VE, which should fit the 777 nicely. It's a good looking body that's made for brushless. It's got clearance for the batteries and there are vent holes in front of both side pods, and more behind the driver cockpit.
Thanks for the quick reply, did not even realize Kyosho made a clear version yet. Steve, I am very interested in what looks like a custom camera mount on your electric buggy. Can you tell me where you got it, or if its available?
The camera mount is something that I simply made with a strip of aluminum from Home Depot. I removed the upper plate of the Kyosho EP conversion kit, copied it using the piece of aluminum, and bolted a Manfrotto 482 mini ball head mount to the plate. The ball head attaches with a 3/8 course machined nylon screw (also from Home Depot) so if it takes a hard hit, the nylon screw will simply snap. The ball head comes with an adapter to use a 1/4-20 screw for mounting, but I prefer to save that piece just in case I have a camera that uses a 3/8 mount.
I get a lot of noise from the gears when the camera is mounted in this position, but I'll typically remove the sound track and use background music. I'm also making mounts for the front and rear of the car so I can get trailing and following shots without the wheels, body or wing getting in the way of shooting.
There isn't a "best" conversion for a 777. Really, whatever you convert to, it has to comply well with whatever kind of racing you do, to put it simply.

Cool, hope to see you soon at either track. I'd like to run at ARC soon too, they have a very nice track...fun layouts. OCRC is also nice, indoors and your car doesn't get too dirty
