Thumbs up Best RC10GT P/S engine?

I'm building an RC10GT for my son and I to race and bash. I have really good luck with pull start engines on my other R/C trucks, and I don't want to mess with a starter box right now.

What is the best .12 to .15 pull start engine for this truck?

An O.S. CV-X or CV-RX would be a great, reliable choice for your GT.

Cool, I have an extra .12 CV-X to run, it just needs a piston/sleeve to be new.

I just went from a OS CV-X .15 to a OS CV-RX .15 and loved the first and the 2nd is even better.

Two of my good friends run OS in there Nitro cars too.

The O.S. line of motors are all great and very user friendly.

However, .15 size motors are not legal for nearly any organized racing, and if you plan on entering the club race scene at any time, you will need a .12.

I have been to the races, but never raced myself. They allow you to run the .15's at the track, but the guys that do seem to have a problem contolling that much power, maybe their slipper clutches arent' setup right. There's a lot of spin outs in the tight corners. I'm sure with the right driver, the power of a good .15 could be used, but I'll stick with a decent .12 for now....

Slipper clutches shouldn't really be used as traction-control devices..you will burn them up (ever temped the slipper plate of a loose slipper? we're talking 300+ degrees!).

They are designed to save the diff and transmission from the shock of landing off of jumps and accelerating on high traction surfaces.

A good .12 is all you need in gas truck.
