Default WHAT WOULD YOUR SC SPEC CLASS BE

ok your in charge of setting the short course spec rules what kind of speedo, motor, tires would you legalize and why
here is mine

Speedo Novak Havok spec
Motor Novak Havok 17.5
Tires J concepts goose bumps
Battery Hobby King Turnigy 5000 mah 2s 20c

now box stocks would still be allowed. I picked the havok speedo and motor for dependability and price. The goosebumps cause everyone says they work everywhere. and the turnigy pack because of the $19.99 price tag

2wd? Its a good starting point. This topic will be discussed forever. When the slash came out and evrybody ran it stock it was a great class and very affordable. Then came the snowball and now we are driving cars that are way faster than an actual full size s/c truck and money is a big factor.

Just like we did 2 years ago... change out the radio and shock oil... and that's about it. If you want to run brushless, great... there is a stock class and a mod class.

The ROAR SCT class on 13.5 w/ any ROAR approved tire/wheel set up is the ideal "SPEC" class.

I agree, 13.5 and any approved SC style tire and wheel. I don't believe 1/8 tire and wheel should be allowed, keep them looking as original as possible. Just my opinion.

This is exactly what we run at my local track. The class exploded when we changed to this rule format.

We still run box stock at my track. I'd like to see some kind of brushless rule adopted just for the ease of maintenance

I have to agree with this. I think "marrying" a certain kit or electronics is a bad idea. The 13.5 motor and tire size are easy to tech. You need to let the free market work to insure the best quality/cost ratio.

13.5 with SC tires and SC bodies cut on the manufacture cut lines only. No open windows, no cut out beds or carnage bodies.

If you want to limit cost a little, spec out a low "C" rating and limit MaH size.

No need to limit the battery if you limit the motor. A good lipo capable of 20+ minutes of run time can be had for about $30. We run 13.5 motors, SCT style wheels, tires, and bodies, no conversions or ST allowed.

+1

I have been running the ROAR Stock rules for nearly a year. I have worked a Slash and a SC10 to get the most out of the class and the 13.5 is so much better. More motor and you have to call it Mod or Open.

They have 2 classes at one track.

Intermediate Corr
Any short course tires wheel, chassis, 17.5 brushless motors

Stock Corr
Any SC, may be able to mix speed controls and motors from other manuafactuer. Stock Tires only. Any Battery.
__________________________________________________ ______

My rules
Spec Slash Class
Spec Blitz Class
Spec Kyosho Class
Spec SC10 Class

4 Seperate catagories would be better. Throwing them all together is causing the problem. cEither that or run them all together and limit the battery. Any battery is just BS. Any speed control and motor from other maufacterer is also BS, because the fast guys have already figured out
the fastest combination. One of the fast guys runs Kyosho Esc, with a Kyosho motor, kyosho servo in a hpi bLITZ.

And Intermediate Class is fine as is.

There should be 2 classes. Fast drivers & slow drivers.
