Default 1/8th scale Truggy steering servo

Just wondering if there is a low cost but good servo that I can use in my 1/8th scale truggy?

Your going to have to spend around 100 bucks man. Really no way around it.

Ace 1015 or a hitec 7955 is what I would reccomend.

Hitec 7955 for sure! There's no competition.

Just ordered one of the new Turnigy HV Titanium servos. Will have to wait and see how the quality is and how it performs. I know it isn't a Hitec, but $60 for an HV-capable high-torque titanium servo I figured it was worth trying out. I know people tend to either love or hate HobbyCity gear, but I've never had issues with any of the lipos or other servos from them. I see the main downside not as lower quality, but that it's harder to get support/warranty service.

You'll be happy to know it's going into my Caster F8T! I'll report back when it arrives. Unfortunately the Chinese New Year is going to put a delay on shipping.

You should check out the 3S capable version. I think it's upwards of 500 oz/in!

I run the hitec 7955 no problems so far.. i went with it because i was told it was one of the strongest ones you can get.

Let us know how that HC one works out.. it could end up being a good deal

Ok I have a question for you HV servo guys. Are you charging your lipos to 7.4 and cutting them off or are you bringing them all the way up to 8.4?

I use an external Castle BEC and have it output a constant 7.4V to the receiver and servo, but this might not be as convenient if you run nitro. I know Spektrum receivers are rated to run between 3-9V, but not sure about any of the other brands.

I went with JR Racing DS-8711FET for turning on the truggy.
Still running the regulator with my lipo on it.

i have an ace 1015 on my truggy its fast and has plenty of torque but after about 8 or 9 races the gears already have some slop in them. i think i will probaly go with a jr 8711 when i kill the ace. my hitec 7950 is still going strong on my l8ight with a 2300mah lipo receiver pack.
