The Align Ti-geared servos are rebadged Savox servos. They are very good servos used for HELIS, not sure if they're good for cars/trucks when you crash. Maybe somebody who has used the Savox servos in cars/trucks could share their experience?

Do you need a Rx cap when using this servo?

but more important you want it at least 140oz strength
JR servos are definitely the best out there. HOwever you do NOT need .06-.08 and 140oz of torque in a Slash.

Orion 1007 is a great servo, the DS1015 and 1313 are excellent but that Align looks really good. You do NOT at all need 250oz of torque in a Slash and a .15 transit time is not much if any faster than stock so you're not doing yourself any favors by wasting $115.

If you are worried about namebrand then definitely get the DS1313. It is 173 oz and a .13 transit time. Great servo for around $70

If you can afford it step to the 1015 which has .10 speed and 201oz of torque. They go for around $90

That is true, but I like to use Digital in everything so I can use the super speed on my radio which is faster than futaba 4pk

I don't want to get into a pissing match about which brand servos are better here, but Hitec servos are definitely the best you can buy. As far as I am concerned they have the top 3 servos on the market. 7940 and 7950 high voltage servos are in a league of their own. 7955 is the most proven and most popular servo on the market. You can't go wrong with any of the above (actually they would all be overkill especially the 7950) but you will pay for them. $100 is about the cheapest you can buy the 7955 and the others are more. But if you buy one, you will never have to buy a servo again for a couple reasons. One being that it will never fail, and the other being that if you do manage to somehow smoke one, hitec has THE BEST customer support PERIOD!

I wasn't aware that Hitec matched JRs 3 year warranty on servos. Specs still aren't as good as JR especially when you get into the HV versions.
Both are good though and both are a lot of money.

Up to the OP to make a decision.

Default Update on the Align Servo...

So I am not going to say I was steered in the wrong direction but I was not too happy when I stuck the Align DS610 in my slash and it started glitching and overloading my receiver!! Can anyone that uses the Align DS610 tell me what their other components are, I have the Velineon 3500 ESC and Motor and a Spektrum SR3000Rx receiver powered by a Venom 2C LiPo 7.4v... Any ideas as to why this works for others and not me?? I really liked the servo it was quick and seemed to be very durable but when I would hold my controller left or right they would just bouce, like turn then go back center , turn then go back center all while I am holding the steering solid in that direction. I noticed my receivers light was blinking off whenever they would go back center thats why I think it was overloading it... Any help would be GREAT!! Thanks.

In my 1/8 scale buggy I've been using JR 9100 servos both T and S. In my old 1/8 L8ight I used Hitec and had several go out on me. The 7955 was the only Hitec I trusted. I also hate how long the wires are on Hitec as compared to JR, but that's definitely a personal preference.

Many people have said that Hitec has an unofficial lifetime warranty, but that's just what I've read here and heard from fellow racers on the track. I don't know that first hand and you will never hear a representative of the company say that.

old thread i know but just for the record.

i ran align ds610's in my 600 and 700 size heli's on striaght LiFe 2s (6.6v) for over a year and never had a single issue. after some banging they would come down warm on a flybarless rig. the heli's put a TON of load on them and they never gave up.

i just built my first sc10 and decided to go with the align ds610 on it also because the specs are perfect for the application. after reading around i discovered that alot of people had issues with running the ds610 off of the castle MMP esc and i noticed it browning out the RX without any load on the servo so i am running mine off of the 2s Lipo straight. alot of guys do this on the heli's and i have done it on one i setup. they get hot after 5min of smack flight.

but on the sc10 its cold i can slam it around for two packs and its still cold.

just dial in some expo because on 8.4v this servo is FAST! my guess the torque is over 200 oz so TONS more than needed.
