Default RC8e

I ordered an RC8e. Are there mods that should be done to this buggy to get it ready to race? I have read that people think it needs big bore shocks and a steering mod. Do the new cars come with the bigger shocks?

Is the battery box adjustable? Is there a mod to allow the batteries to move?

if its the e kit then it comes with big bores but they are plastic bodied and arent as tough as the aluminum ones the RC8b and everyone else run.
the battery tray is fixed but most packs work fine.
most people buy the rc8b and then get the conversion due to higher end parts. i, like you, just got the E kit but i still enjoy it ok. im slowly converting it to a basher though and hoping to use a lighter 3s based hyper9 as my racer.

The RC8B electric has been announced by AE though no date or price yet, you may want to hold off on your purchase for a few days and await few more infos and maybe save some money, I'd suppose it to be at a similar price point like the nitro kit, just guessing.

The RC8e is an awesome car. Take your time and build it slowly and with the stock set up and plastic shocks it is great on the track. The suspension is soft and very forgiving. You made a great buy, and I am sure you will be very happy with it.

Here is the RC8Be.

Now I need to decide if I need to wait for the updated buggy. I will only be able to make six races this year. Maybe a few more. The tracks are all one to two hours away, and I have a family. The updated buggy will probably be an extra 200 at most??

I would expect the RC8Be to be about the same price as the RC8B, which is around $450-$500.

I'm waiting for the RC8Be as well. I can't race until the spring anyways so no big hurry.
