slipper clutch help
Hi guys.
This question has probably been asked already... but here it goes anyway,
i have just bought a new traxxas rustler vxl... but 3 runs into it and i think the slipper clutch is slipping and burning. There is all sorts of smoke coming out of the clutch, and im a little concerned.
What is going on???
If the question has already been asked, post a link up, other wise thanks for all your help!!!!
Cheers.

Sounds like the slipper was loose - once loose, it will slip and generate heat to the point it burns the pads up. This design has also had a prob with being overtightened and bending the pressure plate. Once that plate is bent, it won't work right again.
You need to take it apart and inspect it to see whats wrong. Replace the pads with the new alum based pads if you can find them (they didn't change the p/n, just changed the pad material). I don't reuse the pressure plates (even if its not bent) if its been slipping - plate gets polished and its hard to make it quit slipping. Then properly adjust the and take it easy for a pac to let it breakin a little, check adj and go from there.
