Talking My Slash Build-up

Just thought i would cronicle the build up of my pro-2 slash for this racing season..
I got a roller on ebay.. pretty good shape.. with tires and a beat up boday to get me going..
Had a JR xs3pro radio to put in..
Got traxxas VXL esc and Novak Ballistic 17.5 motor.. RPM rear arms.. smc 5200 lipo..
I am going to Paint up the body as the Johnny Greaves Monster Energy.. Got a decal set for it already and Just got a Slash 4x4 body to go on..
Will update with photos and info as things progress..
Any tips or hints please feel free to let me know..

Got a Pair of Front Epic beadlock rims with switch tires.. Getting the rears soon.. Then either paint the beadlocks or get monster green to go with the theme.. Pics to follow soon..

id go for the split six beadlocks as they accept the SC tires rather than the epics that only work with standard 2.2 tires instead of the 2.2/3.0 sc tires...

There are pros and cons, with the 2.2 on both sides you can get proline holeshots and abunch of others from j cocepts, where as with the sc specific wheels you have calibers bowties and goosebumps

going with the epic wheels.. and these rings from st racing..
Think it will look slick.. may even paint the letters on the tires... details

Starting to get ready to paint my slash 4x4 body to go on my slash..
layed out the stripes... Going with metallica black body..
lower side panel metallic green and the stripe flourescent green.. Here is what i'm going for.. We shall see how close i can get it!
Tips for taping a straight line? hehe

Started painting the body.. got the metallic black on.. and the metallica green lower section.. next will be to make the stripes and rear cross bars flourescent green.. here are some pics of the beginning...

Have been there but have not raced there. Will be racing the egtc series this year.

Its fairly obvious the protective coating is on the outside of the body still, so he did not paint the outside

Correct. Painted inside of body metallica black. Metallic green on bottom sides and flourescent green stripes. Will post pix soon.
