Man, that's weird. I've been running my Tekin 1700 Kv system in my truggy for a long time with no issues. I'm using a 5S 20C Zippy Rhino pack.

I am having a customer service issue. I'll leave it at that but if it doesn't get resolved this week I am going to be very verbal about it........

Ouch, give'em a chance. I bet the service dept. gets overwhelmed on Mondays, from all the angry people that had failures over the weekend. Also, you get more with honey than you do with vinegar... despite the fact that the squeaky wheel gets oil. I try to keep all this in mind when I call to get answers to my anger-ridden questions.

from what I recall when I had my first RX8, Reaper wasn't one of those quick to get angry types.

Please be aware that this past Thursday and Friday and this coming Thursday and Friday they will all be out of the office so there will be nothing going on.

The guys at Tekin are amazing and by far the industry leader in support/service IMO.

Castle had many issues with the first 2 versions of the MMM and now its close to perfect. Give them a chance and the RX8 will not disappoint.

That's not entirely true. We will not "all" be out of the office. Jim and his better half will be attending the Snowbirds race in Floriday this upcoming weekend, the rest of us will be working.

I'm not blaming the esc or the battery directly. Just my combination of choices.

Tekin stands behind it's stuff and provides the best support which is why I continue to buy there products

Thank you for clarifying Randy. I placed an order last week and Jim informed me that it would not process until today because of their absence.

If you are willing to read through quite a few posts, there is a tremendous amount of information over on the RC Monster Castle Creations subforum regarding Zippy/Turnigy/Other Cheap Lipos and 1/8th scale brushless (and the MMM in particular).

It's NOT 6S that kills them.

its the discharge rate.

these esc's need a certain amount of amps to run good. like the mamba monster says it needs 100amps to run good.

and by buying cheap lipos that say they do 35c is a lie. cause they dont. they do much less and they over heat the caps on the esc and make them pop.

i had a mamba monster 2650kv combo in my rc8 with a flightmax 5000mah 4cell 35c battery and i blew up 5 monsters. i then changed my batterys to the reedy 5000mah 2cell 35c lipos and ran 2 of them for 4cell lipos and i never blew up a esc again.

That's it in a nut shell. Now I know a bunch of guys are going to post how they have cheap brand (fill in the blank) batteries working fine for a hundred years in their RC and that may be but they just got a good one. The cheap packs are not always going to be bad but the lack of cell screening before assembly means that many of them will be bad. The diffence between a good brand & a cheap one is the number of bad cells that the good brand screened out of the batch & the quality of the pack assembly. The bad brands uses the whole batch & then puts them togeather poorly.
