New motor for SC10
Im thinking of getting a new motor for my sc10. now i have a 10.5 novak but its runs too hot. I was at the track today and i am geared 87/20 (no timing) and it was 160 after 5-6 min. So im thinkin of a LRP x12 maybe 8.5 or 7.5. I dont know which one i should get. Im leaning towards the 8.5 right now. Thanks

You might want to look at your gearing first. I run a novak 10.5 in my T4 with 81/24 and it runs really cool. In my SC10: tekin 13.5, 75/26, and I can hold the motor just fine after a 10 min main.
So ask around and see what others are running at the track and also check to see if anything is binding.

You may need a little timing on the can, and re set your gearing.

Something is odd with your set-up. I am running My SC10 with a novak 10.5 Balistic and a Tekin RS geared 78/24 and the hottest that it has come off the track was 118 after 6 min. I am running approx 10 degrees timing (I backed the timing off from the stock 30) with 35 degrees of boost added back in with software from the speedo. Could you possibly be geared to low for your track, causing you to run at or near max RPM too much? Have you tried going to a FDR near 8.5? Just a thought.
