no leaks here , just add up on maintenance. maybe you need to get the shock cover to minimize dirt.

75/35 wow I had 75 33 and it was hitting my gear cover so I was gonna try a 69/34 to help clear it.

Yeah, it took a little dremel work on the inside of the gear cover to make it happen. That car still has the original gear cover on it though, so now worries there. When we did gearing testing I just left it off until I found what worked best, then had to clearance a bit to clear the pinion once we settled on a gear package.

Ok, well I guess I need a lesson on gearing. My new Dex arrives next week, and I'll be going w/ the 13.5T motor. Does the kit include more than one spur? Does it have the pinion(s)? What mod / pitch are the gears? Where would be a good place to start regarding the gearing without having to Dremel the cover down.
Thanks guys,
SoCal

It comes with an 87 spur. With a Tresrey 8.5 we run 25/81 (RW spur). Running a 13.5 you shouldn't need to dremel anything as you won't be running anything like blinky 17.5 gearing. If I had to take an educated guess I would think somewhere around 28/75 would be a decent starting spot for blinky 13.5, but we've never run 13.5 in the buggy. Hopefully somone else can chime in on this one for ya.

Schumacher and RW spurs are direct fit. To use an AE spur you need to ream (or bore if you have machining capability ) the center hole out. If doing it by hand with a reamer, go slow and do each side a little at a time, checking the slipper hub for a snug fit. A little too big on the hole and the gear will be unusable.

Thanks Jonny5
I was going to go w/ a smaller motor since I'm a bit of a novice in the 2wd deal, and our new track layout is pretty tight and technical; I'm worried about launching it in the parking lot! Anyway, maybe others can add their $.02 as well.
Thanks again,
SoCal

Tresrey makes a replacement layshaft and slipper hubs that allows the use if AE style spurs and slipper pads.

Here is Cush's setup from this past weekend: http://www.petitrc.com/setup/durango...ngoDEX210.html

Indoor and outdoor are posted at the top of the clay and dirt sections, respectively.
