With such a GORGEOUS, almost maintenance free ball diff, why would you want to? The last thing this car needs, is more weight in the rear-end.

If its like the arrma all metal diff Im not sure but if its a light weight like the sc10 then maybe, I had a play with jörns diff att the DHI cup and it was really nice.. smoooooth with 600wt shock oil

He kicks butt with his driving.. and nearly the exact same setup where ever he goes

I agree the diff is good, but actually I put the SC10 gear diff in mine last week. I checked the weights of both and the gear diff with 2000cst was 37 grams with associated flanged bearings (no shims) and the kit diff was 43 grams with bearings, so no real big deal.

You have a part# for those bearings? I just bought my SC10 diff and my LHS didn't have any shims that were going to work.

See above link - any 10x15x4 (MS) Flanged Bearing will suffice. I got mine from LHS. This is a UK seller but I am sure you can find something in the States easy enough.

Also - you will still need to shim, just not as much. Some guys on Oople did a very good write up on it and how you need to shim it correctly to one side to let the idle gears sit on the diff okay as one side of the SC10 diff body overlaps the gears and can cause the idle gears not to sit neatly on the diff. You would need to see the diff to follow me........

I went to my more local hobby shop and found a shim kit from HPI, #Z892, that are an exact match to the TD diff shims.

Also, did you put the two smaller o-rings on the outdrives? With them on there seems to be too much resistance.

Hopefully parts will be easier to get now that Hobbico owns Team Durango.

hehe... no seriously, there are some clearance issues, and I want to take a real fine look at ackerman angles before I get guys tearing apart their front ends, then yelling at me if it doesn't work right
