I am considering getting a DEX210 but I am conflicted between going for a new DEX210 v2 kit or picking up a used DEX210. What do you guys recommend? I can snag the dex210 roller for a good amount less then a new kit. But Im reading the v2 has some seriously nice upgrades out the box.

I would pick up a V2. You will spend about the same money converting a V1 to a V2 (including alu. Chassis). Not to mention having all fresh parts with no slop and no hidden gremlins.
About the only upgrade that I think is a "need" is alu battery holder nuts. I hated the plastic ones. Maybe an aftermarket fr hinge pin holder that has inserts to make anti squat changes easier.
Like any other car there's a bunch of bling you can throw at them but not much is really needed for this buggy imo.

You will want some metal ball stud spacers. Kit comes with plastic ones that are soft and deflect. Def get the v2. Last night there was a v1 & v2 in the main event. The only one to finish was my v2. Also out qual'd the v1.

i had shortened the rear link, to get more rotation, shortened front link to get more twitchy steering, out on the front tower to the outside, for more off power, out on rear tower for less grip and mayb more steering, more shims under rear ballstud inside (4mm) harder rear shock oil

The track is very small and tight and it was warmer than usual so the grip was up big style

Upgrading slowly with individual parts is how I went from a V1 to a V2 for alot less than the V2 kit plus i went the Dimec20 chassis.

I have only ever had a Rear hub, front C hub and the gearbox ball stud mount fail on my V1 210.

Nothing so far has failed with my V2 parts.

Asked earlier was the weight of a V1 chassis vs the other chassis I only have a Dimec20 to compare with.

Also have gone with MM on my V2 upgrade will be interesting to see how it goes.

Big thumbs up to durango on the V2 revisons with the Type B parts very nice much improved G/box is alot easier also.

If you cant pony up for a V2 all at once you can put it together over time but I don’t think you'd save much $$.
I picked up a V1 from a member in this thread when I knew the V2 was coming but I wanted to run it right now right now. Got a deal.
Have since changed to the V2 chassis but other than that and the rr hinge pin mount, I am V1 a(?)-type and have only broken a rear hub and rear tower since December. I wouldn't say you gotta have a V2 for durability but if you want a V2 eventually and you have the money to pick it up now, do it. Fresh kits rock!

Default Fresh paint

Used a Helion Criterion body, I really hate the cab forward bodies.

Hideeho
I'm with you on the cab forward designs. That is a slick looking solution! How tight does it sit to the side pods? Could I use Velcro to hold the body on?

Criterion looks cool! Nice idea. Did you switch over from the B4?

That body is pure sex. As in supermodel sex. Not this cab forward sex with a sheep sex that everyone else is into. Now I just need to know where I can find one.

Fred I figured you would love it. Its not perfect but it beats cab forward any day! Helion is a HobbyTown brand so its only sold at hobbytowns. Part #HLNA0324
