What's a good strong wing that suits this car? I found the stock wing a bit flimsy, just cut a new one out it was already creased in the packet.

So far this has been my favorite. Has held up well and is more robust than the Durango wing, but none are bullet proof.

Avid (FTW) also make one that looks nice but I haven't tried it.

Has anyone tried the plastic sworkz wing? Its like a moulded plastic, not lexan,, not sure if the wing mounts are strong enough.

I make a 6.5" wing out of .060 (1/16") lexan that is really close to the stock dingo wing. Also make a flat high dam 7" and a low-pro 6.25". Check my albums.

I'm planning to make a mold out of the lower half of a body that fits and Dimec chassis and of the original body and then blend them together to have a mold of a stock type of body that is capable of fitting the new chassis. I just don't have a vacuum forming setup right now.

I just picked up a slightly used Durango dex210. My lhs races 17.5 brushless. So this puts me in the market for a esc/motor system. I'm looking at a couple of systems

Tekin rs gen 2
Trakpower
Viper
Hobbywing
Lrp

I hoping you real racers will help me on which to get. I can say at my lhs most run the tekin system.

They are all great ESCs in the $100-$150 US range
Gen2 has a 8.5T limit (don't get the spec. as its only 13.5T limit)
LRP Flow 9.5T limit
Viper VTX10-BE 6.5T limit
Trakpower 2.5T limit
Hobbywing XERUN v2.1 5.5 limit

Just make sure you are aware of the motor limits.

At that price point, the Hobbywing and Trak power will give you the most flexibility in terms of motor selection as 2WD can run around 7.5T or 8.5T in Mod. The tekin is great too. But keep in mind when running 17.5, that a lot of people get the programmer to get the most out of their ESC and motor. You need to factor this into account until the 17.5 is blinky.

In my old JRX2 I'm running a Hobbywing Justock esc and 13.5 motor. There is no timing adjustment on a Justock esc and the XE-Run motors all have fixed timing at 0 so you can't adjust them at all. It is a very good running system though and I'm happy with it. For offroad the Justock is limited to a motor of no faster than 13.5. I added a fan to my esc and it stays nice and cool.

My 210 has a Hobbywing V2.1 60a esc which does have timing adjustment. For offroad use it is limited to an 8.5 motor which is what I have. All of the Hobbywing products I've had have been very nice. I've never seen a reason to change in regards to esc's. Motors I may move around with though.

Not to try to be bias, but from what I've seen that the tekin is the most programmable. My lhs runs a indoor carpet and its not real tight but its not huge. You know the car and the type of track im running on. Hopefully this will help.

Tekins seem to be very good for everyone I know that use them. However at 1/3rd the price Hobbywing is where my money goes.

Just out of curiosity, where does 1 go to buy hobbywing other than hobbypartz? I noticed that hobbywing motors in 17.5 aren't as high in kv rating as the others.

A lot of that kv rating has to do with timing. Theirs is fixed at zero. If you advance the timing, you increase the rpm limit and hence the kv rating at the expense of lower end power. Other motors may have adjustable timing and may rate their kv at max rpm capability of the motor at a different timing setting. Hobbypartz doesn't actually have everything that HW sells.
