Tower Hobbies finally has Type B gearboxes. If I haven't just cleaned them out with my order, they are available for those that are in need! :-)

That's good to hear, I started to feel kinda bad for buying so many Hopefully some more people who need one see this and get one or two extra. Or hopefully Tower's availability means more shops will be getting their shipments soon :-) Now we need the Type B top deck to finally get back on LHS shelves.

Looks like the only online place that has it discounted is RC Planet. Or buy it at retail price with free shipping from Fleabay

But I'd just wait for the new Dex210 V2 to hit the streets. It's so close :-)

Be warned, if you are trying to use the new plastic gears for the diffs, you'll be lucky to get one set of usable cross-shafts and spider gears out of the supposed three pairs included in a package. So much inaccuracy with using a mold for the manufacturing process. The gears bind terribly on the cross-shafts, they require some careful and scrutinized sanding before all of the gears will run smooth and slop free. I have no clue why a mold process was thought as a good idea other than it being cheap as hell to do. I'd have to go through several sets before I got one that didn't bind like a mofo without modifying. I am gutted. This is my fourth defective part i've received from Durango since I got this thing and the list is growing. Luckily CS has helped, but damn , the downtime is depressing when I already have so little time to run these things. I am happy at least most of you do not seem to be dealing with these issues.

I bought a gear diff but never installed it. I assembled it and instead of filling it with oil, I filled it with plain toothpaste. Then I chucked one side in a drill, held the diff gear, and spun it for several minutes in both directions. It smoothed out. I pulled the diff apart, cleaned it out, and reassembled it with oil. It feels smooth now. This is what we used to do to old Optima/Ultima gear diffs back in the day. Those were soft pot metal though.

Still no word from Durango about my chassis problem. Not off to a good start with their customer service...

Okay I can't take it anymore, has anyone else had trouble with the slipper disk/spur gear rubbing on the gear cover? I've replaced everything in the gearbox short of the topshaft, bearing and the gearbox (which is unavailable. Really Durango? It's been months) with no luck. Are the new machined gears just wider than stock? Or is this an issue with fitment after using the car? It sure as heck didn't come this way with the stock gear, and the stock gear was tossed since it was useless for stock racing. Anyone have negative experiences with the new spur gears?
