it does not need ANYTHING to be competitive out of the box (well maybe springs, but that is a tuning thing) I am hard as hell on my cars and have not broke or bent anything after countless wrecks. You might want to have an extra steering rack and shock towers for piece of mind, but you dont need to upgrade them. The Sumo gearbox brace would be nice, that is probably the only upgrade I am planning on doing, that an some aluminum thumb screws for the battery hold down, the plastic ones can kind of tear your fingers up.

Page 696 I posted weights I was at 1595g I'm sure it was with a shorty pack 30g rf and 10g under servo 21g front suspension holder and kit chassis since I went to a dimec but haven't tried it yet... Plastic washers low profile locknuts wherever locknuts are dimec and titanium hinge pins aluminum screws would get you pretty low to the minimum... At 1595g it felt very nimble with a 10.5t no boost at practice I was able to decide within a couple feet wether or not I wanted to pass slower traffic by jumping over them mid air and just land flat to get out front and not be in the way still, our practices were open to all 1/10 so I was passing overpowered 4x4 sc this way even it felt good to have people looking around asking who was driving that buggy and I'm far from pro I've only raced twice ever

I'm about to get my new car and am wondering if I should go ahead and replace all the ball studs and cups. I've read a lot of posts about ball cups popping off. Are all the ball cups likely to do this? I think I read the steering plate ones are particularly bad for this.

It's entirely up to you, but I've got 6 Durangos and the only one I run the Lunsford kit on are the 4x4 Short course. All of the others run stock ball studs, turnbuckles and ball cups. Like others have said, once you build the truck/buggy and snap them on for the first time, you should only use the hole in the top of the ball cup for the allen driver and take out the ballstud connected to the cup when you need to remove them. I've never had any of them pop off.

Steering plate: Yes

Ball cups: I'd try it first. Replace the ends as needed. I'm somewhere between rookie and decent and I don't have an issue with them. The only time it popped off for me was when a tube ripped my wheel off and I broke a few C Hubs. Use a tap to thread them if you have one. Look at the desc210 first post for some tips.

Get the rear camber plate if you can. Look back a few pages for the sumo one. I personally use the tresrey CF one. Changing the gear case is a pita.

Is that chassis braced? If not, its going to twist like a banana peel which could be good if you're running it on a smooth, sandy track with no jumps. At best, it's going to rip your body at the post holes, at worst, it's going to bend like a soggy newspaper, costing you the price of a new chassis.

Has anyone experienced any issues because the car doesn't have a servo saver?
