Racedmy 210 for the first time on Wed evening and it worked well. Been practicing a little on my home indoor clay track to get a rough setup and idea on how the car would feel but Wed I took it to a rough indoor dirt/clay mix track with some larger jumps. I changed tires and tried the car out and it worked very well to my surprise. I changed out the shorty pack to a standard pack and the car was even better so that is what I stuck with for the night.

Track was very brutal if you missed the triple jumps and you would pay if you came up short but my STRC 4mm sock towers took it no problem as did my other STRC parts like my motor mount that took a huge shot and nothing happened. The BB shocks took the jumps with no problems. Very happy with the initial setup Ihave on the car. Now Iknow Ihave something pretty good to work with.

Only thing Ihad problems with my front axles if Itightened the screw up too tight and when to take my wheel off the aluminum axle would spin in the stock insert. Very minor issue I will take care of for next time.

I have these STRC shock caps:

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...k-Caps-4-Black

and these TD aluminum shock mounts:

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ck-Mount-Set-2

on my 210, but I am not sure what to put into the caps for a pivot ball. Anyone else running this combo?

An easy fix for this issue is to apply some locktite to the aluminum axel when inserting it into the axel position insert. Helps get a nice bond on the plastic so you don't have to worry about the insert losing its hold on the axel. Sounds like you will have to replace your position insert though.

DangerCow, you need these.

I/m going to order some new inserts and then when I put them on I will take your suggestion and ad some Loctite. Thanks

Could try a bit of fuel tubing, otherwise I'm not sure how you would mount them, do they have some sort of lip to stop it from sliding off a pivot ball?

Thanks for the tip on the pivot ball, there are a few of them so I didn't want to collect them all to see what fit. I have used fuel tubing on my crawler but thought it would be out of place here.

Got a dex210 for sale with some goodies on it if anyone is looking for one. Have a f/s thread on it as well. Would trade it for a dest210r or desc210r or sell for $175. Lmk

Slight bit of play gleeng? Kinda normal when its double metal like that, my dex408 has the same problem.

The strc caps and the tresrey mounts have play. So much that the nut is all that holds it from falling off.

I wouldn't want my alloy caps to ride on a steel standoff...I think they would need a plastic bushing...personally, I would stick with the stock plastic shock caps unless the alloy replacement came with a plastic bushing.

Thumbs up

I run the stock plastic for that reason. Tight fit and never had any issues. I have been told that they can separate from the shock bodies but I have had no issues what so ever.
