Durango DEX210 Thread

..at my local track 17.5 is the class where the local fast guys are at..I run in the 13.5 class and you can get a little sloppy with your lines....and the weight of your car doesn't matter as much..I was pretty fired up yesterday.., Friday night I was working on my car and noticed that my chassis (dime 20) was broken..worked till about 11:30 at night and got everything changed back to the stock chassis (that's a lot of work) track opened at 8 am..tried a few things and the car was freakin dialed....I TQ'D by a lap.. Won the main..damm I like this car..
After reading about the recent breakage issues with the plastic chassis, the mods to add metal back to the plastic chassis for strength (which puts the weight back on) , and then your resounding win with the stocker, I really think I'm going to stay with the stock chassis.
Now if Durango would just make some more freaking parts! Stock is low everywhere.

+1 Put the diff spring in a pair of pliers and clamp the pliers closed a few times. The spring will collapse a little bit. When you put the diff back together, tighten it until it is tight and then back it off 1/8 turn. I'll bet the problem will be fixed. Also note that he is showing you that the spacers go under the gearbox (between the gearbox and rear suspension hanger).

So you won by a lap with the stock chassis? Were you as fast with the dime?

Thanks to all for the help. I think squishing the spring is what really worked. The nut sits down in the drive cup properly now and it doesn't matter which way the diff is installed. I looked at the new manual and it doesn't really tell you if the nut should be on the left or right.

If the diff bolt and nut were to move because of rotation of the diff assembly (it can happen if the nut gets a little wear) , it would be preferable for it to get tighter than for it to loosen. You could finish a race with a too tight diff, but maybe not if the diff loosened up.
Now with that in mind, which side of the car should the nut be on to ensure that if the diff bolt was able to turn in the diff nut because of assembly rotation, the diff will get tighter instead of looser?

Here is the part, if I understand correctly he cuts the front (where the 2 screw posts/webbing are) off flush with the front existing chassis bumper, and uses the 4 mounting holes and screws to help support the front kick-up. It would look a lot like other brands front bumpers, but being a thicker piece, it adds support to the chassis..One could let the the piece extend past a bit, and if/when there is an impact, maybe it wouldn't transfer to the chassis, and would possibly be spread through the 4 screws.? I haven't broken a chassis, and have been running one of each stiffness since they were available..
