So I just bought one of these bad boyz used here on RCTech! Since money is pretty tight (like everyone) I'm thinking about the following electronics since I have them around. Can you let me know if I'm going down the wrong path?

Castle 3800 motor
Castle SCT ESC
HiTec HS-5645MG servo

As you can tell I'm more of a SCT guy an this is my first buggy. Now I have these motors up for sale and wonder if they would be a better fit for this buggy?

XERUN Motors for sale

I also have a MMP to use as the ESC to support sensored motors. Still, I'm thinking these are all overkill right?

Sorry, new guy here

Definately keep the 10.5, the other is way too much motor for a buggy (unless you want a wheelie mobile), usually lowest turn I have seen the pros go is 6.5 (Tebo is Stadium Truck), lowest I go is 7.5/8.5....

With all of the cars we run (mostly my brother), proper maintenance can be tough to keep up on. Ever since we started using the BFast kits in the 210 the diff maintenance is virtually nonexistent. He will wear out the outdrives on his buggy before the diff needs service- it's really quite unbelievable how long their diffs last if you build them right. I won't run anything else in our cars, period.
+1 on your +1 5 full practice days total on the diff, as fresh as the day I bought it.

The 3800 is way too much motor for this buggy IMO, and I really wouldn't even consider running sensorless in a buggy either. I say use the MMP since you have it, sell the rest of it and pick up something in the 7.5-10.5 range depending on your preference and track size. Never used an Xerun motor, but I've heard they are good for the money.

OK so maybe the 10.5 with the MMP since it handles a sensored motor till I get some money for some other goodies. Does that make sense? Thanks for this info!

I'm running a viper system now & want to try something different. My buddy is running Orion & it's smooth but sure is loud in his b4.1

Thinking about ..
Reedy
Lrp
I love my Sonic Motors and they are quiet. If he is using the stock AE spurs and his mesh is off his car, or any car for that matter will be out. Also I have seen even slightly worn pinion cause my Truck (T4.1) to be very loud.

If you plan on running stock no-timing I would recommend an Orion R10 Race spec speed control, can handle down to 5.5 turns, and has zero timing that cannot be adjusted. Get a sonic, that speed control, and turn the timing on the motor all the up.... Very fast, and runs cool.

Does anybody have a setup for outdoor loose dirt? I'm running almost box stock right now.
