Thanks.. yeaa the bumper works very well.. no idea why durango doesn't put bumpers on their cars. I'm using the Tresrey rear chamber plate. Thanks.. I found that project to end up being too complicated of a design..when I went to re-design it.. I found my redesign was very similar to the Dex210.. so I decided to get that and do small changes to it.

Anyone notice this from the Tresrey Blog? I'm assuming this would work in giving more weight behind the rear axle. Both rear shocks weigh ~40g, so if there is a change, I would think you should feel it.

Putting the shocks there should make the car very lazy. Also it wouldn't jump as well. But if the surface is smooth, it would be good.

Well, someone in Japan thinks it works on something well enough to post a picture.

I really think moving the shock weight behind the axle does something.

I also ran my shocks like that ,but when I ran mid-motor.. with mid-motor the more weight in the back the better.. don't think you can tell much difference in the actual suspension working different.. just the extra traction

I ran mid-motor to try it out on a high traction clay track. It hooked up really well with new tires. But, once the tires wore down a lot or the track was watered in order to change the layout the mid-motor didn't have enough traction.

In my circumstance I need traction with used tires because I can't afford new tires, and I also need to have enough traction even when the track is wet. The other thing is I am running the buggy in 17.5 blinky and I am already 2 oz over the minimum so I couldn't add any weight to the rear to gain traction.

Usually the rule of thumb is if you have enough traction with mid-motor on your track then run mid-motor.. it will handle better and carry more corned speed.

can you give us a mini review of how you like the 8-racing carbon fiber chassis? how's it alter handling, setup, etc? likes dislikes?

thanks!

Funny, I did the same thing on the DESC410R, it made the wheel base longer which added stability.

Are there still gear box problems? How is the durability? Are there needed upgrades out of the box?

Durability is good, better than most cars out there. The only reason Durango cars may seem less durable is because people b*&^ more about parts availability.

I would buy extra rear hubs, gear cover, and shock tower set, other than that i am very happy. Build the stock ball cups right and you should be okay with the tranny camber mount. If you pop alot of ball cups, replace them and have a camber link "Fix" in your tool box.
