Anyone know about what size pinion is the largest I could fit with a 75-tooth spur? (for 17.5 stock class)

You should try a 34t or 35t.

You will be way under geared with a 75. Get a 69 spur for an AE and ream it out, unless you can find an RW somewhere. You'll be somewhere between 34-37 for pinion size depending on your motor. A 37 requires a "skinny" pinion and some careful placement to not rub the motor screws and gear gover.

Dog Runner races at the same track as me- another 210 owner and I have played with gearing a lot and that's where we found the best balance. I actually think the motor could pull more gear if I could get either a bigger pinion or smaller spur.

Ouch! I don't see why the LRP wouldn't work- its a quality esc for sure. I run the sxx stock spec and like it in my blinky buggy and sc.

Default pinion and spur

Newbie here, but since you are on the subject. My motor is a 10.5. Car is smooth but not a ton of "zip". Can anyone recommend a pinion and spur? Thanks

I wouldn't say that.. I am running an LRP x12 with the flat insert, and I am running 75/32 and it is a missile. Guys geared much taller than I am aren't even a single mph faster on than me on the straight.

Not trying to argue with anyone here. He races at the same track as me- one that has a 125 foot straight. I was just trying to give him the setup off the buggy that Cush won with last weekend. Gearing is track dependent, and that's what is working there.
