Default noisy car

so how is everyones car?

I have replaced my durango spur with a RW spur, and it is still relatively noisy, compared to say a B4 or RB5. The gearbox seems very smooth, I have also changed pinions, the roundness of the spur is still very true and straight. But it is still a noisy car.

Will AE spurs reamed out the only solution?

I have their spur with zero noise. If u run without gear cover, your gears can become a little chewed up and noisy. That has happened to me. So now I run the gear cover.

Also if you order from Akula Racing Thayer packaging sucks and so does the USPS method of handling your mail. I thought I got my shock tower and center steering link I ordered .

tested all day yesterday, i will make a few adjustments to the CAD work and start production tomorrow. will post proto pix later today!

My DEX210 was getting noisy too... A bearing in the tranny/ slipper was the issue. This happened for two reasons:
1) The last person that assembled my slipper forgot a washer.
2) The reamed out AE Spur I had on the car wasn't reamed out perfectly round and it wore out the small bearing on the slipper shaft.

Here is the bearing part number if you want to take a look in your Manual:
Part # 601022x1 5x8x2.5mm

I couldn't find that part number available so I purchased the equivalent bearing size from Traxxas. My car is nice and quiet again.

My car was noisy to. RW spur 81 / 23 gearing. The fix was changing to Black Pro pinions instead of the steel ones. Made a HUGE noise difference.

Also, putting some grease on the internal gears helps alot with the noise. I always do it no matter the car....runs quieter, smoother and the gears last way longer

I like that you're joking around, good times!

Sort of, just the static dampening on my table seemed significantly stiffer with light reds. Then, after reading some follow-up posts yesterday; I measured the thickness with a caliper and found the light red approx 0.08mm thicker.

Hey guys,

I just picked up a DEX210 a couple days ago, and....I'm going to use it as my basher car....I know weird, right? I wanted something different though. I'll probably mount some 1.9" crawler tires on the stock wheels (cut them to fit). I'm interested to see how she'll hold up with all the posts regarding breakage in here.
