You will have to use another Durango ballstud. It's a unique size that only Durango uses. If you swap out all ballstuds and ball ups then you can use standard sizes. Many companies make titanium studs for the standard size.

99% of the time I build emulsion shocks with zero rebound.

If anyone puts in an sc10 gear dif, would you care to post pix or tell how many shims on each side, what kinda shims too. SC10 gear difs are pretty abundent and cheap.

Ill wear out my first ball dif, but see my self going to gear. That's why I run 2wd in the first place, its an easy lo maintenance car.

Why is everyone afraid to run ball diffs ? If you build them and break-in correctly they last a long time .

To me I don't see it as being afraid to run one, I see the gear diff as just another tune-able part, and from what some people have been reading w/ the difficulties people have been having putting the ball diff together they might be second guessing themselves on their own skill to build and break it in properly

The stock setup is a good place to start. The biggest change needed is to close off some holes in the pistons- 3 or 4 hole seems to be where most a ending up. With the 6 hole pistons there just isn't enough pack and the car lands fairly hard off of even small jumps. Otherwise build it how the kit says and tune to your liking.

thicker oil won't do anything for the lack of pack when using the 6 hole pistons. I'm running 4 hole 1.3's in front with 30wt and 4 hole 1.2's in the rear with 20wt and my car is dialed.

are you running the stock springs also. the track that i run on is a 95x55 ish med bite indoor track and always has a big triple. what kind of track are you running on? just wondering if your track is close to mine to see if that would be a good start for me.

I'm running dark green in the front which is one rate softer than stock and black in the rear which is two rates stiffer than stock. I run at Mike's hobbyshop in dallas, usually med/high bite indoor

Got back from trackside Milwaukee and ended up with Losi red fronts and Losi grey rear. The conditions were very dry, dusty, low grip. Where areas had some blue groove, the track had not been swept after a big race the night before. I also ran pink beams all round. I did have the 6 hole pistons with AE 45F/40R. Fluids seem to be working. Hope that helps. With the softer front, the car is easier to drive, alot less push.
