Hello tc5 man,

Have a look at the Team Tech Tips, there you can see how the positions are from the motor and the spur gear.

Thanks. I see now the motor plate is on the right side with the motor endbell pointing to the left with the 3 gear mid gear motor right ?

Now that I finally finished building my CNC router, I can get to the real fun part, making RC parts! This is my prototype chassis. If all goes well, I've got a sheet of carbon fiber sitting around to make the final version.

The nose will bolt on the same way as my old hand made chassis. It's the same way x factory does it.

Looks good!
Does just the plastic servo mount hold them together, or do you use any other stiffener aswell?

Looking good Nick. Interested to see how it works for you at Bumps with your new chassis setup.

If all it does is work as well as my current hand made chassis but just look better, I'll be happy!

I'm hoping it will work better for the track. I designed it to be the short v1 chassis length. I have a hunch most of us don't really need a +8 chassis indoors.

And now for an update!

top deck done! I discovered my transmission cutout is off by 1mm. No big deal. A little dremel work will fix it right up. It's a prototype for a reason!

Default spur gears

What's everyone doing for smaller spur gears? Triad, schuey, cnc durango, ream out ae's. I have reamed out an ae75 for a quick fix. I have designed a simple trackside jig to ream ae spurs.

If a simple reaming jig was available to mod ae spurs, how many would want one?

I'd be in for one.
Running Durango machined spur and they are thick. Would like to change to AE spurs.

I haven't had issues with the stock spur gears actually . But does the B5 slipper pads work on the Durango slipper ?

Do you guys use the Purple shock O-rings in the shocks that come with this buggy ? Im finding that are stiff and get that slicktion if that's what you call it like a tight feeling kind of and when i mount them on the buggy there not that smooth its like a scratchy feel when there compressed .

B4 pads work fine. Im pretty sure that the b5 pads are the same.

did tresrey stop making that layshaft they had?

Have an avid setup here with lots of spurs if anyone is interested including stuff for stock and mod sizes. Just don't really run stock out here enough to make it work keeping.

The purple ones should be smoother than the orange ones. First, did you put some green slime or silicon as you installed the o rings into the shock cartridge?

Also there is a plastic insert that goes inside the bottom of the shock cap. Make sure you have that insert the right way otherwise you will squeeze the o ring more than necessary. The lip of the insert faces the bottom of the shock cap.
