The spoiler will help in the straights but my problem was always in cornering and accelerating. Only way to cure that is with the slipper and some weight.

An aluminum bulkhead might not be a bad idea actually. How is that in terms of putting stress on other parts of the front end tho?

With RPM a arms your weak/breaking point will be your rod ends. They are pretty hard to break, cheap, and easy to replace. I did it on my old rustler and it was well worth the investment.

Aluminum in some places is not a bad idea. Aluminum bulkheads are a great mod. Added front weight and durability.

a) proably houldnt have bought a rustler.
b) smaller battery
c) you can put a weight on it, but will obviously make it ultimately heavier and slower

d) for high speeds, front spoilers are VERY effective.

e) good throttle control: just like areal car, if you can control the acceleration well you wont get wheel pop.

on your remote, is your throttle setting on 50/50 or the 70/30 setting?

maybe try flick to 70/30 (you will have to re-program the ESC-takes 30 seconds), this way you get more finger travel to control throttle.

otherwise i guess what the other guys said, aluminium parts.

if you wanna keep it simple, put a little weight right ont he front.

hope this helps!

So the whole reason for trying to keep the front end on the ground had more to do with steering then it did just trying to get rid of the initial take off. That i have no problem with.
OK,
1. Move the battery as fare forward as you can

2.Lower the suspension.

3.Stiffer shock oil in rear/stiffer springs.

4.Sway bar for rear.

5.lighter oil in front shocks/lighter springs.

GOOD LUCK !!

I raced a VXL Rustler for two seasons just to prove a point. Don't know if I have a soft spot for Traxxas or I just love the underdog. The single best investment I made hands down was the FLM trany that incorporated 5 degrees of rear toe in. It solved all my issues with keeping the truck going in a straight line, improved the handling immensely and made all that power very controllable.

I actually did quite well. The only guys that beat me didn't win because their trucks were better but because they were better drivers.
