It must have been the 2200kv for 6s. I know they announced new motors but I haven't seen any running yet.

That's a LOT of motor for a 6S pack. The guys that are racing with 4S packs are running motors in that range. I would guess that a motor in the 1600 - 1800 range would still be wild with a 6S - I think a 2200 with a 6S might melt the tires off the wheels. All kidding aside, it might create thermal issues, but I'd defer to someone that has more experience running 6S packs.

6S on a 2200 is going to be waaaaay too much.

That thing will be approaching 50k rpm. 28-high 30s is about where most people are. On 6s, there will be a lot of spinning tires. If you want controllable, but great speed, go 4s. If you want fun speed, try 5s. 6s is where you go if you're aiming for top speed runs.

On a small track, it would be a lot of work to drive.

See if you can borrow a 4s for a short run and then do the same with a 5s. Tell the guys what you're doing and why, people are cool in general.

I ordered the 2200kv! Yea i have a few 4s lipos i am going to see how the new motor compares on them to the stock orion 2050 before i I go higher.. But the the 6s combo would pretty much be for "Bragging rights" type fun Like drag racing and stuff

The 2200 on 4s in my SC8e is a beast. I love that motor! It is a whole lot of motor for a buggy, as long as you can control your throttle finger it isn't too much in a buggy. Just learn how to finesse it and when you need the power it will be there.

You'll destroy your motor and speedo in world record time if you try to gear it up that high. The car comes with as 12T pinion and you're almost doubling it, then you're installing a higher KV motor, and possible going to 6 cells. Just be sure you have someone with a fire extinguisher in hand about 10 feet from where you start so they can limit the collateral damage.

All kidding aside, it's way out of the question. You can possibly go up a one or two teeth with an outside chance of getting away with a 15T. Don't underestimate the effect of increasing the KV on the motor. It's already going to be faster without changing anything else, even if you stick with a 4S pack. If you go to 6S, you're increasing the voltage by 50-percent, which mandates a smaller pinion size. Unless there's a suspension of the laws of physics with a 6S pack, I think you're asking for trouble to even think of a pinion that large.

you are still asking for problems. also I hope you mean mamba monster and not the pro. 6s with a 2200kv motor and a 20t pinion is going to pull a lot of amps. Have you even checked with a speed calculator to see what kind of speed you are even gearing this car for?

That's funny because Kyosho says it's a 12T with a 48T spur and a FDR of 10.56:1.

How did you get an 18T?

Edit: you beat me to it... I was just posting the same thing. According to the instructions, it indicates that it comes with a 12T pinion. I also knew that because it comes with a sticker on the right side dirt shield that recommends against running bigger than a 13T pinion with the stock motor and speed control.
