Default A 13.5 is a 13.5 is a 13.5...

After taking a two year break from electric buggy I'm getting back in. (I run nitro buggy) I will be looking for a motor and not sure what to look for. I need only the motor.....

I was looking at the LRP X12, or are they all the same?

yes, i did a search...

There Is A Difference In Motors. The X-12 Is One of the best in my opinions,I Run a 13t Hobbywing And Its faster than a novak 13t. Its also About the track too.

I just switched from LRP X12's to Team Orion v2 vortex's...........could'nt be happier......LRP's ran hot, smelled and ate bearings.

All motors are well competitive with each other. I would go with the X12. The X12's run a little hotter, Because it allows for warmer temps, but the stock bearings are garbage. Once you put in ceramics is when the motor is at it's best.

trinity/epics are torque monsters, go for them. if youre a spec racer, maybe invest in a novak ballistic, you can change your motor wind for 30$, so when/if you bump to mod your set.

For Spec racing...its all about the ESC nowadays....nearly any 13.5 can run well with the right ESC and setup. Changing brushes and turning comms is out....taking a laptop to the track to program your dynamic timing ESC is in.

All motors are nearly equivlant, especially if you stick with the good brands. Having a good esc is truely the way to go now a days, becasue you can adjust timing, voltage, and a hand full of other useful things electronically.

I have had great luck with novak velocity motors and the tekin redline motors. I ran both with a gtb and both with the rspro, and noticed a big improvement with the rspro, with both motors geared the same in the same buggy.

The only motor that I owned, that I didnt like was the x-11 vector in 7.5. It ran hot and was noisy after a short time frame.

If I were to recomend you a motor, that I would buy, I would sugest the Redline 13.5 or the Novak 13.5 either velocity or ballistic.
