Default Tekin System

Can someone explain what the KV numbers on each motor represents. I am new to electric and getting ready to convert my MBX6. Thanks.

The "KV" is the amount of rpm's per volt.

What battery power do you plan to use, we can point you to the right motor.

Looking at running a 4S battery. I am looking at the Tekin systems but here there are issues. The MMM seems ok but do not know which one is the best.

Default kv

example 11.1 volts X 4600kv = 51060rpm

I went with the 2050 for my FT RC8B conversion. Any reason why one would opt for 1900 vs. 2050? IMO, seems 2050 would be better for 4s. I guess 1900 can go both 4 or 5s, but 5s is not race-legal and would probably be quite a handful to control.

I too run a 2050 just about everywhere, but the 1900 can be ran on anything from a tight indoor track to a big outdoor track. The 1900 is really the best overall motor if you had to pick one.

I have the 2050 on 4s 6500's and even on a 200x100 layout I still had it turned down to 80%... the 1900 is next on my list to purchase

The 1900 is one of the most versatile motors we have. IT can be ran indoors, outdoors pretty much anywhere. IT has a super smooth powerband which is why most like it so much.

The 2050 is no slouch either and when setup right with the proper gearing is also tough to beat.

Thanks Randy. What gearing would you recommend for OCRC in CA at 65' x 125' with a long 100'+ straight? I am currently running 15/46 (in an email you suggested 20/46 overall). I did the math, 15 gets 30mph and 20 gives about 35. At 15, I had serious torgue! Top end was fast, but not outrageous. Want it running cool.

Also, what is optimal gearing for 1900 with 4s? I will probably get one of those as well. That is what I originally wanted, but amain was backordered on them. Thanks.

Undergearing these systems can be bad. So try not to use gearing to adjsut the top speed.

For a 2050 in a RC8b on a short track use 46/18-19. If you need to slow it down drop your epa's a bit. Say you calibrate at 100, you can drop it down to 90 to take the "edge" off.

For the 1900 in the same car try 46/19-20. The 1900 has a smoother powerband in my opinion.

Barry Baker was running the 1900 at OCRC last time I talked with him and was quite satisfied.

I'm running the 2000kv truggy motor in my mbx6 with a mmpro. The extra low end power feels great geared 13/44
