1/8th brushless setups and run times.
So what does everyone have as far as gear and run times? I have a Caster Fusion Pro buggy running a Mamba Monster, Medusa 60mm 1600kv motor, Common Sense 5200mah 25c batterys 14.8v, geared 13/46. I'm getting 20+ minutes of runtime at the track. I finished 2nd in sportsman buggy last week in a 20 min main with no battery changes and the motor temped 144 with no fan or heatsink in 64 degree weather. It seems to me from seeing other brushless buggies and truggies running, their giving up run time and even driveability for crazy power. I have no problem keeping up in the straights and pull away out of the corners with my "mild" setup. I orginally bought the motor thinking I was going to run 6 cell batteries but it was stuipid fast for a track so I tried 4 cell and am super happy to be running an "undersized" kv motor. So what are you guys running? Since Medusa is no longer being made, I may get a tekin 1700kv motor for a backup.

20+ min runtime
I ran a 60lap/43+min race a couple weeks ago on 2 batts. I swapped at the 23 min mark. It still was not on the LVC but wouldn't clear the BIG triple so I swapped at that point. I charged a batt last night and it took 3300 mah. I don't know if it was the one with 23 or 20 minutes on it but either way it was either 143mah/min or 165mah/min. Either way it's pretty good. And yes i consider my setup "mild" as well and find it easier to drive that "hotter" setups i've tried. Here's the thing though, if your running with nitros you need a mild setup to (1)get runtime & (2)keep it fair. If your running with electrics as some on here if you go "mild" you will be left in the dust plus most 1/8 scale mains are only 10-15 min anyway. Have a good day.

I love them. They perform great and stay balanced well. And at $40 a pop I'm gonna keep on buying them as needed. These are the ones I got last time http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=9177

I was lok at the 25c version of that. my hobby guy will sell them at around $100. Price of the battery, shiping, plus a few bucks for him and extra $25 for if the battery is bad just bring it back and he'll give me a new one. Or i can get it for $65-$70s but i will have to pay to send it back if its bad.

Make sure you read the fine print. On hobby city's website they say that the batteries are checked before shipment and will not warranty batteries that are defective. But that does not deter me from buying them. I would oder more than 1 at a time to make shipping worth your while.

Well, almost no warranty. Heres the lithium warranty page: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...po_policy.html
Check it out.

I just got the rx8 with the tekin 1700kv on 5s 5000 25c turnigy packs and it seems pretty good. I feel it lacks a bit of top end, but really smooth controllable PWR. I'm sure once I get it dialed in it will rip. I ran like 25 min on my batts 50/50 track and Messing around. I really like it thus far, way more fun than the nitro motor.
