busting 1/8 scale wheels?
So I've busted two wheels this week on my Inferno VE. One of them was a stock wheel, the other was on off brand dish. I'm trying to decide if it's just cheap wheels, or maybe I'm over tightening the nuts. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Michael

Never busted a 1/8 wheel. Never busted ANY wheel come to think of it.
Will you post a pic? Curious.
By the way how do you like your electric Inferno? Please don't hold back any details good or bad. Any issues with the motor that came with it? (not trying to hijack your thread)

I hadn't broken any wheels either till I got this thing.
So far I like it. I went to a 14T pinion on 4S on a small track and I'm having a blast except for breaking wheels and shocks. The shocks just aren't strong enough, but I found a set with larger shafts on ebay for $25.00. I was a little leery of all the phillips head screws, but so far they have been OK. It has plenty of power, but I'd like it if it was a little punchier. That may just be do to the low Kv of the motor. The motor is running cooler than I expected, but it's also about 40 degrees around here... that probably isn't helping the wheel situation either. The Tx felt pretty cheesy, but I put my own radio in anyway. Almost forgot... the diffs only have two spider gears per diff.
Overall I don't think you can beat it for just over $400. My buddies, who have a lot more 1/8th scale experience than me, are impressed by it. I doubt it will make a hardcore racer happy, but I'm having a blast.

I think it's just the wheels. Look at AKA, Panther, Losi for good wheels.

I have seen just about every makers wheel crack like that , it happens from awkward landings and cartwheeling at high speed . I have a couple sets of those cheapie wheels and they have held up great for me .
Dish wheels are your best bet and are the strongest IMO ...

It's those shnazzy wheels. they look great! guess they're not as durable

yea, what do u expect with little pieces of plastic almost the size of toothpicks to do?

Well that is very wierd. I've only broken one wheel and it was from Duratrax(i am relly not surprised). Get some prolines or Jc concepts. Don't get weird wheels with spokes cause they are not solid enough.

I've seen this car in action and the guy was crashing like crazy until he broke the motor, the car was way to fast for his current abilities. Slower is faster.
I would practice slowing down, give it just enough throttle to clear the jumps!
I like the proline v2 & v3 solid wheels. The car is fast as hell out of the box on 4s so I would say slow down until you can handle the power! High speed mistakes=broken buggy
