Default LIPO Battery balancer

Hello Everybody, I am in the process of buidling my first truck in about 13 years and things have changed. I have a T4 with Reedy LIPO batteries. These batteries come with a balancer connector built in. Does the balancer connect to anything when in the truck during use or does it simply lay disconnected? Is the connecter only used for charging and discharging? All answers are appreciated and I thank you ahead of time

The balancer wire is only for the charger.

There are some low voltage alarms that connect to the balance connector while running. These alarms provide an audile or visual (or both) sign that the lipo is approaching low voltage (around 3v/cell).

If your esc has a low voltage alarm, these alarms are redundant. There are some escs in use that have no builtin low voltage cutoff so these lvas do have some utility.
