Default LiFe in a SC10

Would a LiFe 6.6v 3600Mah 30C be better than a 7.2 3000Mah Nihm battery? Looking at the LiFe batteries since the are pretty much maint free. Any info would be appreciated.

the 2 cell life will be slower and wont last as long.

the 3cell life pack (9.9v) will be better and last longer.

Everything I read said they don't need voltage cutoffs and can store pretty much anyway you want too. How about a 9.9v 4500 Mah? what kinda run time would I be looking at.

As long as you're not stupid with them, Lipo is perfectly safe.

Dont abuse them, becareful to charge and balance right, and store at the correct voltages. Not much more to them than that.

There is a good article in one of the latest editions to one of the r/c mags on the shelf this month about the LiFe batteries. From the translation I got from the article, you can treat them like a NiMH pack as far as charging and storage (run them all the way down, charge at rates up to 15A, etc). However, when they were tested for the article, the lower voltage was not good for running a 13.5 or 17.5 brushless motor (27T or 19T brushed). However, LiFe batteries performed better with modified motors (article test motor was 8.5 BL). And yes, they are less of a fire hazard than LiPo batteries.
