Default SC10 striped wheels.

Everyone keeps telling me that they r having problems with the rear wheels stripping at the drive pin. I was wondering if everyone could post the best way they have found to either fix a striped rim or keep them from stripping.

I've heard that even those are stripping out to even the beadlock rims.

if the wheelnuts are anywhere the same as the ones on my buggy, they are cheap and become loose very quickly. replace them often because they can become loose and stripping the rim out pretty quickly. i dont know how many times ive seen it go for the 2wd buggies at my track.

if your running mod, the stock wheels are worthless.

have never seen a JC or proline wheel strip, I personally like the jc's because they are lighter... never stripped one.

Spun the stockers instantly

In the long run that seems like a waist of money. You can get a little bottle of duratrax loctite for like two bucks. But then again, doesn't assosiated sell locking wheels nuts?

Just mix up a little JB weld, put in holes on back of wheel, scrape exess off with a flat peice of cardboard, done. J concepts wheels have been breaking at my local track. I haven't seen any AE wheels fail after using JB weld!

slash hex fits right over the sc10 pins and from now on just buy slash wheels.

I have them on mine for the last 2 months and no stripped wheels, I'm running a mamba 5700 motor in my sc10

I have two SC10's and two B4's and have never stripped a wheel one any of my vehicles. It all comes down to maintenance check them and retighten them. If you dont look at your stuff after every run then you need to start.

I use JB weld in my wheels and have not had any problems. I have even repaired striped wheels with JB weld. (I had a brand new set of tires on the wheels and the repair works great)
Last but not least once my tires wear out on my stock SC10 wheels then I will buy SC8 wheels and use my New ERA 17mm wheel adapters. AKA also makes 17mm adapters for the SC10.

Its not a maintenance thing. The stock AE SC wheels are jank. I stripped one just tightening the wheel nut when I first built mine. Why deal with all that BS when the JC's are a all around better wheel and not any more expensive.

I run a 7.5 in my truck. I will NOT, not finish a race because I spun the back side of a wheel out.

If you guys want to run stock wheels then so be it. Personally I dont have the time to be JB welding wheels that are defective.
