Both are awesome cars. There seems to be about a 50/50 split of those at my local track. Both run great. The big difference between the two is the driver.

I have a B4 but would be just as happy wth a RB5 if the parts didn't cost so much.

Well I thnk I can answer this. I owned both. The AE FT B4 is more for a Smooth controled driver, one that is smooth with his drive line and is kind of accurate. The RB5 is more for a beginner and gives alot more than the B4. The shocks on the RB5 are way better, and a few other parts. There will be answers both ways. I guess it all depends on how you like to drive.

I wonder if AE is taking notes on how many people are stating that XYZ's manufacturer's shocks are better...

I've heard that the best shocks are from Tamiya and Kyosho... Would be cool to see a revised 1/10th shocks on future AE vehicles...

just a thought.

Good answer Man.

I just finished a new build on the Factory Team B4 went through the whole car pretty replaced everything after 2 years with out a full rebuild .It was time for a new car .I think the shocks are awesome if done right ! car is fast on a planet of its own .AE rocks the Osho's!

Having owned both I would have to say the kyosho runs a lot better on a bumpy track. As has been stated the shocks are awesome and much easier to work on than the b4. You also have to rebuild them far less often. The rb5 has a lower centre of gravity and turns much better also. Considering how long the b4 has been around and how quickly tebo has got his RB5 up to pace, the car has a lot of potential. If they had a few more top class drivers then they would be winning more events. That being said both cars are great in the hands of the right driver.

The RB5's I have seen run are very quick and Kyosho's kit quality is very well known. The downside I see is that the parts cost is high and before the "SP" kit was released, it cost $60+ in extras before the car had the optimum setup on it for high grip conditions (which is all that is run in my region). Parts availability is also an issue.

I run a B4 because it is the easiest car for me to go fast with and is pretty much the "standard" in my area so I know parts are always available. There are things I'd like to see improved about the B4, the shocks are poorest quality of all the contenders and the graphite parts age like "fine milk", if the car isn't in really good condition all around it runs poorly whereas a sloppy Losi car still runs pretty well (just not as good on our surfaces) but the 1st sentence says it all for me, despite those things, the B4 is still the best choice for me.
