Default RC8 Steering Block Bushing Problem Fix

Does anyone know how to stop these from backing out. Yes I use blue locktite and check them after a run or two, but I know im not the only one that looses these. If you got a fix that has worked please let me know.

I have never had this problem even without locktight. Biggest thing is to make sure they are install properly. The tops are different from the bottoms. They are keyed also.

I have a friend at the track that has no issues either.... but I have three more that do have this problem? Maybe its just worn steering blocks? Guess I will pull it apart and see....

I've had this problem, but haven't found a solution. I use locktite and make sure they are seated right before tightening and I still lose them once in a awhile. Worst thing is that the replacement parts aren't cheap.

What part are you talking about? Do you have a picture? In the year that I have been racing my RC8 I have never lost any of the steering or front suspension parts and I have never re-tightened any of them.

I've lost a top one myself. And I know people that are losing them on RC8's and the SC8's... Part # 89029

Besides making sure you use the right sized bushing (and use a flat screwdriver to make sure it's keyed in), make sure you use the right screw also. They are different lengths also and some people don't notice this.

So far, so good, here. I bought the car used, and don't know how the guy put those in, but they're staying put. He was aware of the problem, and even included a spare set.

Using the correct length is probably the key. If you use the short one where the long one belongs, the bolt will probably loosen no matter what because you will not be able to fully tighten it.
