the thing is, RPM will bend king pin in a mild crash, while the alloy won't. I have never bend a king pin ever since I changed to alloy caster block, as many others
well i found some relly cheap allumium parts, so i would like to know what is better rpm or aluminum. because rpm "never breaks but bends kingpins" alluminum "bends but dont bend kingpis"
don't listen to me, go to Traxxas rustler forum, search (caster block) you can find 100 of threads about them. I can guarantee you 99.9% of them would suggest AGAINST RPM blocks.
hm, well what kind of king pins will never brake on my rustler

Drill/ream the kingpin holes in the caster block and steering block to 1/8". Then take some extra 1/8" screw pins like used for the A-Arms and cut them to the proper length to be used as a new kingpin screwed in from the bottom of the caster block. I've been racing a Rustler for 8 years now - I bent one of those thin kingpins within a few races. Then I did this mod and have run the remaing 7.5 years on the same pair of kingpins. That is with stock Traxxas plastic caster blocks and RPM steering blocks.
BTW, the only reason I used a Traxxas screw pin for the king pin is that it is a Spec class where we could not use any non-traxxas parts (with limited exceptions - like the bearing carriers). A better solution would be to find a standard 1/8th hinge pin from some other car and use that as a kingpin. But I had to use a Traxxas part for my Spec race truck.
A traxxas 1/8th screw pin used as a kingpin is way stronger the standard ones. About 2.6 times the material and probably 2.6 times the strength.
If you want something even stronger find a 1/8" Titanium hinge pin from another car and use that as a kingpin. You will have to look around and either take some measurements or check parts at a LHS to see what fits. Of couse, this means you will actually have to do some work to figure this out and install it, instead of someone else doing it for you.
Dont Wreck! HAHAHA nah i used RPM's if your looking at RACING RPM's lifetime warranty for one lighter in weight for two and hell of alot cheaper!!! BACKYARD BASHING i would go aluminum at that point it doesnt matter your out to have fun and smash things up in the end anyhow so...in the end to each his own YOU buy what YOU can afford and whatever YOU like...Hope all works for you!!

nice to say when the lhs is four hurs away, if it were an hour or closer, i wouldent even be on this forum, well, i am gana call some hoby stores in the state and neighboring states so they will actually give me a real anwser to all o my qustions and i wont have to bug u guys
well im gtting alluminum, like tey say, a hit that will bend alluminum, will still break rpm, and alluminum ca bend back, plus theres less kingpin breaks
Once you learn to drive and stop hitting things you will wonder why you spent all this time and effort trying to make the car indestructible. That's what happened to me.
