Is it good to charge or ride your battery when it is hot?

If its a lipo and coming out of your rc hot, you've got a potential prob. The lipo is undersized electrically and is struggling to supply the amps for your setup. Lipo in this situation will eventully fail (puff) and it won't have much in the way of life either.

Yea hot and lipo is bad. But mine are slightly warm after 30 min. That's normal.

Thats ok, NiMh just do that. Its part of teh chemical reaction that generates the current.

Your NiMH pac shouldn't be getting so hot you see/hear cells venting though. Venting is when cell gets so hot it vents some of the internal media out of a weak spot in the cell casing. A vented cell is pretty much done and has to be replaced otherwise it drags the pac down.

You should let a nimh cool off good before charging. Ideally for a couple of hours at least. It’s normal to get warm at the end of charging, and during running. But if you don’t let it cool off before recharging I’m pretty sure you will lose performance, increased internal resistance, and lose run time/capacity.

You can recharge quicker than that, but it's not ideal.
