What do you plan on using it for, bash or race, or both?

I have the rustler, and its durrable to me, i also like it because theres more ground clearance, but then again i would reccomend the slash for other things. it really matters what you are doing

Slash.

No contest. You can race the Slash and its one of the most fun classes in RC. The Rustler kinda stinks, and deosn't stand a chance raceing in its class.

Save up a little more cash and get the Slash 4x4 in a month or so.

put a vxl in the slash or just wait for the 4wd slash that will be awsome for basher

they are both very good cars to me i think the slash is a a lot fun bashing and you can race because almost every track has a slash class and the rustler is great for bashing but most tracks dont have a rustler class it is your choice do you want to race or bash?

Both are good. The slash is tuffer so it would be good for bashing. But the rustler is still a nice solid truck and will go a bit faster cause it smaller. But I would go for the slash.

speed, bashing, and overall "wow" factor, rustler hands down. Nothing beats ripping down your road at 60mph, hitting a jump and going 20 feet+ in the air

racing, slash hands down.

The Slash isn't that great of a basher contrary to what other people will tell you. It's too low to the ground, doesn't backflip like a rustler or stampede can, and is much slower.

If you want a basher to have lots of fun with look towards a Rustler or a Stampede. The Stampede is loads of fun, backflips on demand, and is extremely tough. But don't expect to win any races with a pede.

In the end, you need to figure out what you'd like to do. If racing appeals to you, or if you have a race near your house that has a slash class, then go with the slash. If your idea of a great time is spending time with friends and setting up ramps and stuff for the rc car, then get a rustler/stampede.

another thing to look at is the tires. with the pin tires on the rustler you will be buying another set real soon if you ride on cement.
