I remeber those above. The Toyato Hilux is the other version of that King cab. I remeber those Midknight pumpkins.
What got me into racing was the Team Losi JRX-T. I really wanted a Traxxas Blue Eagel too. lol
Then I really liked this truck before the XXT came out.
Blue Eagle 2. Which I think is what the Rustler became. lol

Wow, all those cars above are making me feel really young...half that stuff came out before I was even born, and I'm 22!
My first real R/C car was a Duratrax Overdrive ST. 1/10, nitro, and 4WD, so back in the early 2000s, there was nowhere to race it...if it had been anything like reliable enough to race. I'm much happier with my T4 now

My parents bought an Aristocraft Kangaroo for my brother and I in 89 when they felt guilty for not taking us with them to Mexico Remember breaking into the barns at the fairgrounds to race with my friends in the hay. Grasshoppers, Hornets, Falcons, Boomerangs (was really jealous of that car) Those were the days for sure. Then I got a Losi JrxT and started racing for real. Modified it with a slipper clutch, badass. Anyone remember a chain drive 4wd in the early 90's??

Here's one of my first - a Nikko Dictator. 4WD car with dual RS-380SH motors and a 'torque splitter' - which is why the motors have three wires each. Very cool car, and very well made too. I remember saving my money to buy this at Toys R' Us for $179.99 in 1988.

Yep back in the early 80's I started with a kyosho.
Then a Tamiya Blackfoot shortly after.
These raider cars were complete garbage, the tranny was very weak.

Wow guys good stuff. My first 'real' car was a AE rc10 graphite. There was a whole string of radio shack/nikko/tyco cars before it. My grandfather bought me the AE buggy because HE was tired of me breaking the toy cars and not being able to get parts for them.
Didnt stop me though. For a while i had a whole "store brand" rc car grave yard that I bult all sorts of stuff out of.Even after I had the AE buggy I continued to build frankenstein creations out of the pile of cheapo cars.I loved to tinker.

This is a great thread. Keep the pictures and stories coming.
