Default Traxxas Rustler into a Short Course vehicle

Saw this asked by another race on another forum as there is some interest in getting CORR trucks going in the area, and was looking to get him some info if possible:

If you have a traxxas ruster and want to turn it into a short course vehicle ( I don't say Slash specifically if there are features of the slash you don't need to convert), what all is needed specifically (part numbers, etc) to make it into one?

I want to be able to provide him with specific part numbers needed to get a bare minimum short course truck that fits the dimensions of the current SCTs.

Should be all you need:

There = The car is over there. Break = Take a break.
Their = That is their car. Brake = Your brake isn't working
They're = They're not racing that car.
Your = That is your car.
You're = You're not driving it.

for the people who want to convert a bandit or rustler you will also need the stampede/slash rear skidplate.

i hope this helps for the "home brewed" slashes

if any one can thing of something i missed, let me know and ill add it to the list.

Default conversion

I was going to convert my rustler with the xtreme racing lcg kit part #10619b
xtremercracing.com then add slash body posts to the shock towers with a body of choice and your done.I have too many rc's and decided to buy a blitz to go along with my e firestorm.But I think this is a great way to go.turns the slash/rustler into a low chassis racer.

well the chassis needs to be longer the arms need to be shorter and you need wheels and tires plus a body. so there is 50-70 bucks in parts. there is a xxxt-sct thread that you could look at and see how they took two chassis and made one long one, then you need to figure out how wide the truck is and how to shorten it.

first off the truck needs to be and inch and a half longer
then you must shave of 5.5mm on each side to make it width legal.
really he is better of buying a slash if he wants to get in to sct cheap.

All you really need is longer body posts, corr body, wheels and tires. The wheel base is a little short, but nothing some custom cutting of the body could not solve. I am not sure how people thing that the truck is narrower, it is all the same parts as the rustler, the wheels are just narrower with a different offset.

If you want to race the truck, some tracks might not let you race it as the rustler has a much lower center of gravity. It turns sharper, and weighs less then most other corr trucks.

With Such A Wealth Of Information, Why Are You So Poor?
