That information about the XL-5 ESC has been on there for over a year and has not changed there is a possibility that they have made the necessary changes and just have not updated the website. Im not calling you a liar or anything, and i know where it says that it wont work on the site but it works 100% for me

According to mach1rustler they are doing it wrong . Since he disagrees with what they say what their own product can and can`t do .

I know many people that have tried them and they DO NOT work properly .

Anyway , NIMH will be your way to go , without buying a new ESC .

Well thanks for the help and arguments! jk.

I can easily go 2 cell lipo if I want, i'll jus get a portable voltage checker and monitor it or get a lipo alarm.

Oh, I alreaady know that. do you guys think an 8 cell 4000mah nihm pack or a 2 cell 3000-5000 lipo pack would be better? The 8 cell would be faster but it weighs a lot more.

My bad , it does . Thought I read it didn`t . I`d be surprised if the tranny holds up to 9.6 .

It's got the same tranny as the brushless version, which can handle 3-4 cell lipos at 11.1-14.8v lol.

The lipo cut-off is over-rated. If you can't tell that your truck is slowing down and you need to stop then you probably do not have any common sense. It's nothing more than a sales pitch that apparently has stripped most people of their own common sense.
