Short antenna

If you don't have any problems racing and you only race you should be okay. If you wanna bash with that rx i'd send it to futaba. Depending hop old it is they might do it for free, then again I have never dealt with futaba's warranty/repairs center. Are you racing the rx? or bashing it?

Theoretically, it should affect it, but you might not notice it in a short range situation such as at the track. The antennas are a specific length (1/4 wavelength of the TX frequency). If it cut exactly in half, then it'd be 1/8 lambda (aka wavelength), so you might be ok, or it's close enough that performance won't be drastically hurt.

Why is the antenna so long then?

This is just me but I would replace it myself. You would need to feel comfortable with your ability to do it though. Assuming they use a standard wire, which I think they do, and not a coaxial type.

lmk what futaba says...thanks,

for me it is a typical antenna as all of my cars run the R603FF, it's gray and only about 6 inches long. I think it is coaxial due to the type of plug used has a outside metal connection as well as a middle pin. FM and AM antennas are usually soldered to the board.

I meant the construction of the 603FF compared to the 27/ 75 mhz receiver antennas.

a 2.4ghz receiver doesn't require a long antena I only have 5"'s
That wasn't a Futaba failure therefore you have to get a new
