I have the du bro tire/wheel balancer and it works great. You can use all kinds of tire with it without buying all kinds of adapters.
As far as balancing wheels/tires is concerned, anyone who says it isn't worth it, has never balanced their wheels/tires. Your car is more predictable, much quieter, and much easier on moving parts.

Every one I know uses the dubro prop balancer. Make a noticable difference on 1/8 buggy & makes a totally differnt car out of a truggy. Never tried it on 1/10 truck but have in 1/10 buggy & I assume would work well for 1/10 4wd. Newer 1/8 product from AKA still needs balancing to be perfect but is hugly more balanced without help than they used to be.
Never held or tried or even seen in person any of the new style balancers but all my other Hudy products are well worth the money so who knows. Maybe all the people that bought them are at BBQs today & they'll post later as I have wondered the same thing.

It will work but I personally use an airplane prop balancer as I can put
the tire in the center of the shaft to ensure propper balance
you don't need to do it to perfection, if you glue it right
you don't have to fix much and usually you wear tires out
before they get to bad out of balance.

It's made to balance RC airplane props, it also is a great tool
to check if a shaft is level or if your wheel is perfectly balanced
the height is adjustable on both ends and you can lock the wheel
into place on the shaft cost around same price

Yup, great balencer. Can handle truggy and buggy tires as long as you have an extra hub.
Not to mention it can do huge props as well. You can reconfigure it so the spinning prop is outside the uprights, then just hang it off the side off your table.
Best balencer out there.

I have never used the Hudy balancer but I have (for my helis) the Top Flite one which I think is one of the best designs there could be because of their ingenious use of magnets instead of rollers/bearings which indeed reduces friction to nothing thus eliminating any error (which is crucial to helis)
