Calling all 1/10 electric stadium truck owners!!
First off I want to just say Hi being my first post and all, looked like this was a very big electric forum and I thought I might be able to get some help here...
Anyways,
My friend and I have shop class together this year and we have decided to build custom rigs out of a rc10gt (I currently own but he is going to buy off of me when he gets the cash) and a losi xxx-nt (with no rear parts except the tranny itself)
We are wanting to build extended chassis for them but he wants more of a sand rail look to his (for the dunes) and he really whats to build a cage and I want a slightly extened chassis (for stability @ speed) , But theres one thing... We are not sure if he should go nitro or electric...
I have 4 possible motors for the rc10gt (plus another piston and sleeve for the stock motor) and other little extra parts but I think electric would be alot better... Nitro would have an exposed spur gear and alot more areas for sand to get into the motor... Another thing is that my friend doesn't know how to tune nitro engines yet and I think a electric setup would be easyer to plug an play...
My idea (for mine and possibly his) is to find a brushless ready electric 1/10 rear end and make a custom chassis with the front ends and use a electric rear end...
So for the rc10gt i need to find a rear end that is around 24.5 cm from hub to hub or 21.5 cm (note: with standard offset that is 1.5cm of rear spacing or back spacing) from inside of rim to inside of rim with the suspension and dogbones straight like a = sign.
For the Losi I need to find a rear end with the inside of rim to inside of rim distance of 24cm (note: with standard offset that is 1.5cm of rear spacing or back spacing) or 27cm from hub to hub...(with the suspension and dogbones straight like a = sign)
How to measure "hub to hub" below...

So what I am asking is for your guy's opinion if he should stay nitro (and I teach him how to tune the motors) or if he should go electric and what each cars possible rear ends that could be used. So if you have a 1/10 stadium truck that would be awsome if you could take a those measurements and post them up along with that car its from.
on a 2nd note,
If anyone knows how to take a scan, import it into a cad program, remove the picture but keep the lines, and print so it comes out the right size let me know, I talked to my teacher today and he has not yet figured that out...
Here is the best scan I could get of the xxx-nt chassis

the chassis is 288mm or 11 3/4 in long from the middle of the front to the middle of the rear.
Thanks.
