Do not charge NImh in parallel. They will always peak differently and cause problems.

Lipo would be fine, assuming they are the same cells. Balancing would be very important to me while doing this though.

Would i balance them separately or in parallel?

some balancers can balance more than one pack at once. Otherwise you would have to find a 2x2s into 4s adapter, I am unsure if someone makes this or not.

I've been looking for 2 + 2 = 4 adapters for a while now and haven't found any. I'm convinced you'd have to just build your own. Or maybe I'm just not phrasing my googles correctly.

Also, keep in mind, for balance charging a pair of 2S lipo packs to work correctly, they'll need to start out pretty close to the same voltage, or any balance charger worth using will probably throw a fit at you. Should be fine if you're always running them as a 2S2P pack via a traxxas parallel adapter in your Revo, though.

Additionally, if you're set on charging two 6S NiMH packs at the same time, you can (if your charger is fancy enough) connect them in series, rather than parallel, so they appear to the charger as one 12S pack. Any charger that supports charging 12 or more cells should be able to do this. Once again, don't try this unless you're always running the packs as a pair. Once they get out of sync with each other you could run into issues.
